The 50. Rally del Friuli Venezia Giulia has been won by Paolo Andreucci and Anna Andreussi.
The 50. Rally del Friuli Venezia Giulia, sixth of the eight round of the “Italian Rally Championship”, has been won by Paolo Andreucci and Anna Andreussi.
It has been the third success after that of 2006 and 2010 for the couple Andreucci-Andreussi and it comes after two amazing days of race, where they’ve beat the competition.
Andreucci took the lead of the ranking since the first meters by yesterday evening, taking a strong advantage by the competitors, managing very well the french car. Two days of race and eleven Stages have declared also the seasonal trio of success (after the Targa Florio and San Marino) passing in triumph the finish line in “Piazza della Libertà” in Udine.
To completing the podium it has been waiting the final leg, the last two stages. The Champion in charge Umberto Scandola, with D’Amore on the factory Skoda Fabia S2000 was able to remain second overall until the last two Stages from the finish despite a brakes problem, and then a hit which has been forced to retreat first to third, overtaken by Giandomenico Basso with the Ford Fiesta R5 GPL-propelled losing the podium, due to a serious damage to the back left suspension.
Basso, codrivered by Mitia Dotta, has been slowed during the first leg due to rear stabilizer bar’s problems (SS 3) and pop-off problems (SS 4), due to which has lost the direct contact from the two leaders then proving concretely in the final placing second. The Scandola’s problem has driven up in ranking Alessandro Perico, so third, to the debut with his new Peugeot 208 T16 R5. Perico has mostly find the optimal feeling with the french, penalized by a spin during the third stage of the first leg, with which has lost precious time, reevaluating then in the second part.
The fourth position has been acquired by young Alessandro Bosca (Peugeot 207 S2000), backs in the “three-colors-series” as “gift” from his father for his birthday, 27 years tomorrow.
For him an attack race from the first meter, keeping next to him some “notables” of the national race, finished in the best way possible. A puncture in the first part of today has not prevent a slightly perfect performance.
Absolute fifth then the unlucky Scandola, ahead at Andrea Perego (at his first race with the Ford Fiesta R5), heavily penalized by a wrong tires choice at the start of the stage, follow by a puncture and a spin.
Unlucky also the transfers of Denis Colombini (Ford Fiesta R5), dealing with the asset in the first leg and then betrayed in the second by a double puncture, and then Rudy Michelini stopped by his Citroën DS3 R5 after the first timed race due to engine problems.
Exciting the matches among between the “Juniors”, where stands Stefano Albertini (Peugeot 208 R2) and the “Productions”, won by Ivan Ferrarotti, with the Renault Clio R3.
In the Mitropa Cup ranking (sixth seasonal round), has won the deutsche Manuel Koessler (Subaru Impreza) while in the TNR di IV zona has won the local Fabrizio Martinis, with a Renault Clio R3.
The race has been truly exciting thanks to the prestigious and compelling one-make-trophies Citroën, Peugeot, Renault and Suzuki. In Citroën has won again Vittalini, and speaking about the “Production” Renault Clio the just mentioned Ferrarotti, then by the Twingo R2 Carella and finally, Suzuki who has seen the success of Lucarelli.
No one instead between the Peugeot, as the one one who has started, Cogni, has been retired due to a engine break in the early minute of the second leg.
Between the historical cars of the 19th Alpi Orientali Historic, valid for the European and Italian Championship, the victory has been prerogative of “Lucky”- Pons (Lancia Rally) on Enrico Brazzoli (idem) with third the norwegian Walter Jensen (Porsche 911) and fourth Roberto Montini (Porsche 911).
The public has could rejoice for the fifth final position by the local driver Rino Muradore, with his Ford Escort 1600. Bad news, instead, for some favorites to success: from “Pedro” (Lancia Rally) after the third when he was leading the stage, from Lucio Da Zanche (Porsche 911 Carrera RS), to Nicholas Montini (Porsche 911 SC), they’ve all been stopped due to engine problems.
The next race of the “three-colors” season will be the “Rally Adriatico”, scheduled for the 20-21 September in the “Marche” region.
