The 11th Rallylegend is taking shape

Republic of San Marino. The 11th Rallylegend is taking shape and the event for historic rally cars has now been defined: it is the most eagerly anticipated event of the season, from October 10th to 13th it will catch the attention of many enthusiasts of today’s and yesterday’s rally and bring to the Republic of San Marino the best of dream cars and drivers.

It’s a relentless and passionate job involving Rallylegend staff all year long the one of presenting a new chapter of the San Marino event on every edition (with reflections now all over the world) that will be engraved in the memory of the tens of thousands of fans who populate special stages and the Rally Village.

"Now we start to draw together the threads of all this work - Vito Piarulli and Paolo Valli explain, from the Rallylegend bridge deck - presenting the structure of the event which will be staged from Thursday 10th to Sunday, October 13th. There will be the rally, of course the heart of Rallylegend, which this year is open to 130 cars, which will be selected focusing on quality and history of the four wheels queens. In the meantime, we will continue our work, refining the increasingly crowded side activities, such as meetings with rally world champions of all ages and the stories from rally history; then we are closing agreements with the great champions who will be many at Rallylegend this year. RALLYLEGEND 2013: ENTRIES OPEN

The first official act of Rallylegend 2013 is the opening of entries on Monday, July 15th, 2013. Four categories of cars are allowed, the "Historic", the "Myth", the "WRC" and the "Stars" for a complete show in the rally history: early days cars in the specialty, the queens that made the history, the most important cars that have left their mark in more recent years, up to the first generations of World Rally Cars and the "Stars” pure show, cars of great historical interest and running the course with no time-keeping.

Entries will stay open until Monday 16th of September, with a large list of foreign crews that have already anticipated the dates.

RALLYLEGEND CELEBRATES 40 YEARS OF WORLD RALLY

Faithful to its role of international sounding board (in 2012 there were 316 Media accreditations, journalists, photographers, TV and video operators and media people from 17 nations around the world), Rallylegend celebrates the most important dates of epic rally. And this year is marked by the fortieth anniversary of the World Rally Championship birth or, to be precise, in 1973 for the first time the expression "World Rally Championship" was used to define the world series, an anniversary that will be celebrated in San Marino with great emphasis, with the presence of some of the most important cars of this fantastic history and a nice set of champion drivers.

The celebration of the 40th World Rally Championship also explains why the Volkswagen Polo R WRC "emerges" in Rallylegend 2013 poster with respect to other great stars of the World Rally Championship of the past.

"Volkswagen is back this year to the World Rally Championship - says Vito Piarulli - and is giving a great demonstration of the Polo R WRC’s quality, and of its drivers Latvala and Ogier, who are dominating the ranks.

But Volkswagen is also Rallylegend’s passionate main sponsor, along with Magneti Marelli and Asset Banca, valuable and stimulating partners, so maybe right here in San Marino the celebrations for the VW 2013 world championship title could start. THE STRUCTURE OF RALLYLEGEND 2013

Once again the confirmed "container" of Multieventi Sport Domus of Serravalle, San Marino will host Rallylegend with the Rally Village, the heart of the four-day event, which will start to get lively on Thursday, October 10th, with administrative checks and scrutineering, the opening of the Press room and route reconnaissance.

Friday, October 11th Rallylegend is going to start with a further reconnaissance session followed by the shakedown at 10.00 am.

At 14.30 the compulsory entrance of checked cars into the starting park with the following "walkabout" of the public within the parc fermé at the Olympic Stadium, next to the Multieventi Sport Domus.

The start of Rallylegend 2013 will be given at 20:45 with leg 1’s prologue always on Friday 11th October, arriving an hour later, after two special stages.

Saturday, October 12th begins with another opportunity of "walkabout" for the public inside the parc fermé at the Olympic Stadium, with the start of Rallylegend’s Leg 1 scheduled at 11.30, arriving at 18.30, after three special stages, repeated twice.

Rallylegend closing day, Sunday, Oct. 13th, will begin with the start of Leg 2 at 8:30 am and finish line, with prize-giving ceremony at 12.30, after three special stages, one of which will be repeated.
