Rallylegend: Meeting with legendary Co-drivers

The 10th edition of Rallylegend is getting richer and richer: Friday, October 12th at 12.00 at Rallylegend Arena an unforgettable meeting with some of the greatest co-drivers of all time will take place: Hans Thorszelius, Ilkka Kivimaki, Tiziano Siviero, Luis Moya, Fabrizia Pons, Yvonne Mehta, Jorge Del Buono are going to be the star of "Legend Co-Driver". Parade of rare four-wheeled cars for 2012 Safari Celebration, static display if many "Queens of Africa". Tribute by Piero Comanducci to Rally Safari, with unique images from his vast archive.

Republic of San Marino. Less than a week left to the anniversary edition of Rallylegend and activities become frantic, but organized, in order to carry out an event of so many attractive contents. One of the events not to be missed will be Legend Co-Driver, a meeting scheduled for Friday, October 12th at 15.00 at Rallylegend Arena. Among those sharing their point of view and rally stories seen from the left seat, is a group of very high-level co-drivers, all with an excellent record awards full of laurels.

Hans Thorszelius, Ilkka Kivimaki, Tiziano Siviero, Luis Moya, Fabrizia Pons, Yvonne Mehta, Jorge Del Buono will be all together available for fans: a unique occasion, which again takes place at Rallylegend.

SAFARI CELEBRATION 2012: THE QUEENS OF AFRICA AT RALLYLEGEND

Fifty years ago, in 1962, the Volkswagen Beetle won, with the Kenyan crew Tommy Fjanstad and Bernhard Schmider, the tenth edition of the East African Safari, considered by everybody “the” Safari: the World Rally Championship race has always been considered the toughest, most fascinating and also coveted. This victory was added to the previous two obtained by the legendary Beetle, the first and second edition of the Safari.

An anniversary that Volkswagen celebrates with the presence of the new VW Polo R Wrc as a forerunner and that Rallylegend celebrates, within Rallylegend Village, with a static display of a large group of the most significant cars that raced and won the "Safari". Valuable machines coming directly from the history of the race, with particular preparations required for the African marathon, will make a fine show for the entire duration of Rallylegend. Rare pieces, among which Vatanen’s Opel Ascona 400 and Mikkola’s Audi 200 Quattro, winners of Rally Safari, along with Kannkunen’s Delta Integrale, Waldegaard’s Porsche 911 and the Mercedes 500 Slc stand out. Together with other precious cars protagonists, over time, on the tracks of Kenya and now to be discovered at Rallylegend.

RALLY SAFARI SEEN BY PIERO COMANDUCCI: A GIFT FOR FANS

He rummaged in his rich and unique archive of movies, all shot by him and his loyal cameras. Movies that span thirty years of World Rally Championship. At the end of his research, Piero Comanducci, the cameraman from Arezzo called the "Fellini of the rally”, made a video celebrating the Rally Safari, with rare “vintage” pictures and closing credits dedicated to " African” Lancia Delta: authentic goosebumps for fans. After the premiere of the projection on Thursday evening, October 11th , the movie will be screened no stop in the Safari Celebration pavilion, at Rallylegend Village.

RALLYLEGEND VILLAGE AND RALLYLEGEND ARENA: THE HEART OF PASSION

Rallylegend Village will be set once again at Multieventi Sport Domus area in San Marino. The Village will be the beating heart of the entire event. Inside, during the days of the event, you will experience incredible moments in direct contact with the greatest champions of the past and present rally and will be able to admire the most beautiful and glorious cars that made the history of the Rally. A structure that will allow to exhibit, visit, relax, enjoy and live the passion for rally.

The appointment with Rallylegend Arena repeats itself inside Rallylegend Village where during the race interesting meetings, screenings, debates and meetings with major players in the rallying world, moderated by leading experts in the world of motorsport, will take place.

In addition to Legend Co-Driver, Friday the 12th at 15.00, Saturday, 13th October at 10.00 the Safari Rally will be the topic, at 10.30 "Volkswagen Wrc, the return", at 11.15 "Legend in comparison" with present champions.
