Rally Team For Dreams Receives Last Minute Support To Compete Alongside World's Best.

Rally Team for Dreams received the necessary support at the last possible moment to make competing in the WRC Rally Guanajuato Mexico a reality. This exciting news resulted in a whirlwind of activity as it left the team only one day to make arrangements and prepare their rally car to withstand the abuse of the harsh Mexican rally stages. Less than 36 hours after receiving the good news the team departed on the 24-hour, 1500 mile, drive from Columbus, OH to Laredo, TX in time to load the car and equipment into containers being transported across the Mexico/US border to the rally location in León, Guanajuato Mexico.

While competing in one of the largest motorsport events in the world is a dream come true for driver Andrew Frick and co-driver Ryan Scott, Rally Team for Dreams is fueled by the desire to use rally racing to benefit kids facing adversity. For their run in Mexico the team has partnered with Camp Sunrise, Ohio's only summer camp specifically designed to provide critical support to kids impacted by HIV/AIDS. "We are thrilled to to be granted the opportunity to compete at Rally Guanajuato Mexico while supporting an organization that makes a huge difference in the lives of kids," states Frick. In a unique effort to raise funding the team is offering up the entire surface area of their rally car to the public by selling 1x1 inch brandable blocks for $5 each, with the proceeds going to the camp.

Rally Team for Dreams and Camp Sunrise are both elated about the global publicity the camp will receive due to the team's participation in Rally Guanajuato Mexico. “Camp Sunrise is thrilled to be partnered with Rally Team for Dreams to support this special program dedicated to empowering children and families impacted by HIV/AIDS,” says Cheryl Foley, RN, Executive Director.

Rally Team for Dreams has faced seemingly insurmountable odds since its inception but the three-month-old grassroots team has worked tirelessly to make competing at the World Rally Championship event a reality. The self-funded underdog team, which races a Ford Focus that was transformed into a rally car by Frick in his garage, has already received attention, support, and encouragement from individuals in all 50 US states and 68 countries. "While our goal is to raise the money necessary for Camp Sunrise to expand their program, my hope is that our story will serve as an example to the kids of Camp Sunrise that hard work and perseverance coupled with an unwavering sense of hope can make even the biggest dreams come true," says Scott.

Considered to be the pinnacle of motorsports, the World Rally Championship (WRC) is comprised of 13 events in as many countries, and challenges drivers to some of the most extreme driving conditions on the globe. The Rally Guanajuato Mexico is the 2nd fixture of the 2011 season and, for the first time in WRC history, will feature an underground stage in which the cars will race through the tunnels underneath Guanajuato.
