Great names in 4th Tuscan Rewind

The enrollment period will be closed on 24th November but entry lists are already full of champions who have confirmed participation at Tuscan Rewind, the legendary rally on gravel roads that brings back in Tuscany both historic and modern cars.

Above all, some unforgettable champions from a few years ago will return for the show and to run special stages around the beautiful and fascinating Montalcino and Buonconvento, next 28th to 30th November.

Notable participation of Walter Rohrl as special forerunner and Harri Toivonen, with a Lancia 037 from Lancia Museum, while “Lucky” Battistolli, winner of 2013 Tuscan Rewind, and Paolo Baggio, both behind the wheel of a Lancia 037, will run the race. Among other important Italian drivers, have enrolled: Gabriele Noberasco, behind the wheel of a Citroen Visa 1000 Pistes, Enrico Guggiari with a Fiat 131 Abarth, Peter Zanchi and Simone Romagna with a Lancia Integrale and Maurizio Stasia with a Triumph Tr7.

IMPORTANT PRESENCE OF FOREIGN CREWS

Noteworthy presence also among the numerous foreign crews who discovered and embraced Tuscan Rewind not only for its legendary special stages but also for its breathtaking sights and offers of great food and wine in the heart of Tuscany.

Behind the wheel of a Audi Quattro, made by Italian Andrea Zivian, comes Finland champion Ville Silvasti, co-drivers Asko Sairanen, usual Jari-Matti Latvala’s co-driver when running legendary rally races.

German champion Michael Stock comes back with a Porsche 911 Sc, who won in 2012, as well as Austrian Harrach with a Citroen Visa, from UK comes Guy Callum with a wonderful Ford Escort Rs group 4, while Swiss Girardo has enrolled with a Fiat 124 Abarth “dressed” Gulf.

“Also among modern cars under the Italian flag we will have some more different important names - said Vito Piarulli, “inventor” of Tuscan Rewind- This event grows with the arrival of many drivers, especially of foreign, attracted by the history of these special stages and fascinating location. Tuscan Rewind is taking root even locally, with important partners and sponsors who confirm their support. Castello Banfi, partner of the first hour, is now main sponsor and active supporter during the race, offering on Friday late afternoon his famous wine as an aperitif to all crews. As well as the wine cellar “Casanova dei Neri” will provide rich refreshments on Sunday. Irreplaceable contribution and support to Tuscan Rewind gave:” Bs Trasporti”, “Santi Costruzioni”, “Fattoria dei Barbi “and passionate newcomer “Cantini Vetro ".

5th TUSCAN REWIND PROGRAMME

Two scheduled legs of about 260 km total distance, divided into nine special stages, for a total of about 85 km. The first leg, scheduled for Saturday, 29th November , includes two special stages, “Tenuta Castiglion del Bosco”, about 14 km long, starting from Torrenieri and repeated three times, as well “Santa Marcella”, about 5 km long. The second leg, Sunday, 30th November, follows in broad terms that of last Tuscan Rewind, with two special stages, La Sesta and Castelgiocondo, to be repeated twice each. The race gets underway on Thursday 27th November, with route reconaissance, and Friday, 28th November scrutineering checks will be alternated by shakedown, near Tavernelle.

The start of the 5th Tuscan Rewind will be given, from Montalcino, Saturday, 29th November at 11:00 am, the arrival of the first fraction will be in Buonconvento at 17.40, with the closing of the day with Tuscan buffet, full menu with local products tasting. Do not miss nightly regrouping, between Saturday and Sunday, scheduled at the charming Cantina Casanova di Neri in Montalcino.

The second leg will start from Buonconvento Sunday, 30th November at 10:00 am, while the finish line is set at Montalcino at 15:30. In Buonconvento, the Service Park will be set up and one Riordino, located by the historic walls, in the same location, in the past, hosted the rally world stops. The regrouping on Saturday night will take place in Cantina di Montalcino. The regrouping on Sunday, 29th November, on the other hand, is taking place in Cantina Casanova di Neri in Montalcino.
