First tests in the Hyundai i20 WRC

Hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend. Everything is going well here in Europe for us. We just got back to Germany after completing our tests this week with Hyundai Motorsport.

It was a hugely successful test, with both John and myself able to get familiar with the Hyundai i20 WRC on both gravel and tarmac for the first time. We were able to learn a lot but also build a good knowledge base of the car, which will serve us well for future tests and events. I was surprised about how quickly I was able to adapt to the car, which compliments by driving style well. To consider how young the car is still and already how good it is to drive, the future looks bright.

Now we are about to head to South Korea with some of the team and other drivers to visit the Hyundai Global HQ and staff. Following this it is then en route to New Zealand where we will spend a couple of weeks with sponsor engagements and of course the Otago Classic Rally in a BDA Escort – which I am looking forward to a lot.

We will keep you posted over the coming weeks as we continue our build to Rally Sardenga in June. It sounds like we will have plenty of Kiwi support there which is great – but keep an eye out for some small events we are planning for Kiwis at WRC rallies, as well as our new merchandise range which is not far away – and it looks FANTASTIC!
