Hayden Paddon: Getting back to the WRC
Our planning continues for what we hope will be a successful year, building up to an even bigger year in 2014.
Our planning continues for what we hope will be a successful year, building up to an even bigger year in 2014. We can now reveal some of our plans and ideas.
Unfortunately to date we have been unable to secure the necessary funding to return to the WRC - however this is not all bad. We have not given up and we are now refocusing on a WRC campaign in the second half of this year, giving us some extra time to secure the funding. We have several options on the table for us to return to the WRC, including opportunities to drive both a S2000 or WRC car. It is important that we do get back this year and show what I know we can achieve, as we have been in talks with some of the new teams who will be looking for drivers in the near future. So now is our chance to prove our worth on the stages.
In the meantime we will still be driving, competing in the first half of the Brian Green Property Group New Zealand Rally Championship with our Evo 9. The first round of this Championship begins with Rally Otago on 6-7 April and I'm looking forward to competing on home soil again. We are currently in the process of confirming our partners for this campaign, and we will have more information out about this over the next week or two.
To aid with our WRC return we have now set-up an online fundraiser where anyone and everyone can help us make our dream come true. It is a way for you to feel part of our team as any contribution big or small makes a big difference. I encourage you to spread the word, help us get back in the WRC and fly the kiwi flag with pride in one of the worlds biggest motorsport events. You can visit the donations page here http://fnd.us/c/5SShe
A big thanks to everyone for their continued support and looking forward to returning to the WRC soon. We will keep you posted on our build up to Rally Otago over the coming weeks.
