Hayden Paddon: Test in Austria

Hayden Paddon22. 9. 2012

Only days after the end of Rally GB, I was on a plane to Austria to our BRR teams base for our tarmac tests.

A week after Rally GB there has been plenty of time to reflect and study the data from what was a frustrating rally. But with the introduction of tarmac for our next rally, Rally France, in just 2 weeks time, comes a chance to press the reset button and a chance to get our SWRC championship back on track.

Only days after the end of Rally GB, I was on a plane to Austria to our BRR teams base for our tarmac tests. As I have never driven a S2000 car on tarmac before, this small test was about learning the capabilities of the Skoda on a high grip surface rather than making too many set up changes. We completed approx. 50km in both wet and damp conditions, and we were able to try some small things on the car. Even in slippery conditions, the car and tyres had a lot of grip, and the balance made the car a dream to dry.
