Rallylegend 2012: Entries open

Starting from July 19th it is possible to enroll for the 10th Rallylegend, the awaited International event that will go on stage in the Republic of San Marino from the 11th to the 14th October 2012. Entries will close next September 24th. Juha Kankkunen, Walter Rohrl, Marcus Gronholm will be among the protagonists of the 10th Rallylegend, together with other great champions and the most important rally cars of history. “Safari Celebration” will be the central theme of the event, with the 50th anniversary of the last victory of the Volkswagen Beetle in the hardest rally of the World Championship and a static exhibition of the “Safari Queens”. A celebration which will be enriched by the presence of the new VW Polo Wrc, guest of honor at Rallylegend. Another exclusive initiative will also celebrate the 25 years of the Lancia Delta. Back to the past for the Super Stage. Night stage on Friday 12th October not to be missed.

Republic of San Marino. The route that gets closer to the much awaited edition of the 2012 Rallylegend has officially started. Opening of entries, the first official act of the event with its great champions and the most beautiful cars in the history of rallies, start Thursday July, 19th and will end September 24th.

The unique stage of the Republic of San Marino will once again be the framework for Rallylegend and the organisation is preparing many special initiatives and fabulous surprises for the many enthusiasts coming from all over Europe in order to celebrate with its style its first 10 years of existence.

The Zeromille organisation, with the couple Vito Piarulli - Paolo Valli on the bridge deck, will again have the patronage of the Ministry of State for Sport of the Republic of San Marino and the precious collaboration of FAMS Automobile Federation of San Marino and CONS San Marino National Olympic Committee.

Thus, when entries are opening, the organizers have already some confirmation from great World Champions, such as Juha Kankkunen, Walter Rohrl and Marcus Gronholm. And this is just the beginning…

SAFARI CELEBRATION, FOR THE 50 YEARS SINCE THE LAST VICTORY OF THE VOLKSWAGEN “BEETLE”, CELEBRATED WITH THE EXCLUSIVE PRESENCE OF THE VW POLO WRC

50 years ago, in 1962, the Volkswagen Beetle won with the Kenyan crew Tommy Fjanstad and Bernhard Schmider the 10th edition of the East African Safari, to everybody known as the “Safari”, the World Championship rally which has always been perceived as the toughest, the most fascinating, and also the most ambitious. A victory that would sum up to the other 2 obtained by the legendary Beetle, in the first and the second edition of the Safari.

This is a special anniversary that Rallylegend wants to celebrate within the Rallylegend Village with a static exhibition of many amongst the most meaningful cars that have rallied and won at the “Safari”, with their particular set-ups, especially studied for the African rally.

Precious collaboration by Volkswagen for the “Safari Celebration”, with the Beetle side by side with the Vw Polo Wrc of the last generation which also appears on the official poster of Rallylegend.

And in order to make the San Marino event even more fascinating, the German Constructor will bring to San Marino right the very new VW Polo Wrc, which will soon make its debut at the World Rally Championship and that will be presented to spectators and the press. Another great RL exclusive.

25th LANCIA DELTA – DELTALEGEND 2012: THE QUEEN’S HISTORY CELEBRATED

The legendary Lancia Delta turns 25 and the “25th Lancia Delta – Deltalegend 2012” sees the light.

“25th Lancia Delta – Deltalegend 2012”, is being defined right now and it will be an inclusive and original way to celebrate the fourth of century of the queen of rallies, thought both for drivers and for the many enthusiasts owners of the many Delta rally versions.

The initiative is under definition and it needs some setting still, but it will be dedicated to all the Delta owners in particular for the structure of the event, which will remind the most legendary rallies of history.

The celebrations for such a meaningful anniversary could not but take place at Rallylegend, which has become “home” to the most important celebrations of yesterday’s and today’s rallies, with many spectators, many champions, first-rate rally champions and in front of a media presence that last year gathered in San Marino almost 300 amongst journalists, photographs, televisions, video and media operators from over 20 countries.

MANY NEWS ON THE TWO RALLY LEGS OF SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

The structure of the race will be divided this year into two race legs on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th October, with the addition of the Super Stage by night on Friday October 12th, a delicious starter for Rallylegend. On the same Friday afternoon, the parade on the start podium of all the participants will take place with their presentation to the audience.

Another important news concerns the Super Stage - a Rallylegend must - which will be repeated twice on Saturday and twice on Sunday. But the most meaningful change in the Super Stage is the “return to the past”, with the elimination of the artificial road passages and all artificial installations on the rally course and a new less invasive setting for the safety of the audience along the stage.

Final results will be separated: historical cars built before 1986 with classification apart and dedicated trophy, the same for the first World Rally Cars (until 2002) present this year too and for the Kit Cars, with the most prestigious models built before 2002, which will be admitted to the start in the same classification as the Wrc.
