Hayden Paddon: Brother Rally New Zealand SWRC Win

We have won SWRC and first Kiwi home this weekend at Brother Rally of New Zealand. While the result is great and now puts us at the front of the championship, the performance has been a little sketchy.

After a good day 2, today started badly when a broken rear suspension slowed us through all three morning stages. With the problem fixed at service, we headed into the afternoon stage wanting to set some good times. Unfortunately I was brought back to earth on the very first corner, running slightly off line and hitting the bank, which spun us around and knocked the tyre off the rim. We had no option but to stop and change the wheel, which costed us close to 3 minutes, but luckily we were able to hold our position.

A huge thanks to our ASM Motorsport team and all our partners/sponsors that supported us for this event. It has been an amazing week and the amount of support we have received has been humbling. Now there is a lot of work to be done between now and Finland to find the speed that we know is there, but some homework is to be done.
