Rallylegend 2011: Waiting for the big rally in history

It’s Rallylegend week, the event that from next 6th October until Sunday the 9th will be the center of international attention for yesterday and today’s rally fans. Friday, October 7th and Saturday 8th the two stages of the rally, with many fantastic champions, all confirmed at the start, and dream cars from all over of Europe. Unique show on special stages, all designed within the borders of the Republic of San Marino, but "The Legend" special on Saturday the 8th will be the true center of rally passion. The same track of "The Legend" will then put on stage, Sunday, October 9, the great Rallylegend closing with "Stratos Day" and " Legend Show".

Republic of San Marino. We finally entered the Rallylegend week. From next Thursday, October 6th the Republic of San Marino will be the center of international attention for yesterday and today’s rally fans. The great work of organizing team, headed by Vito Piarulli and Paolo Valli takes the form of a four-day "immersion" inside the most beautiful and important rally history, reported in the special stage and in the fervor of exciting initiatives for visitors, within Rallylegend Village in Multieventi Sport Domus of San Marino in Serravalle. A location of great effects, distinguished by the hospitality of the main sponsors or, rather, the important and passionate Rallylegend partners, including Volkswagen, Magneti Marelli, IWC Shaffhausen, Pirelli, Asset Banca, Dado. Precious, in this context, the patronage of the Secretary of State for Sport of the Republic of San Marino and the collaboration of FAMS (San Marino Motoring Federation) and San Marino National Olympic Committee (CONS).

Rallylegend keeps the proven race format, with two stages between Friday 7th and Saturday October 9th, technical and sporting checks Thursday 7th and shake down on Friday morning. There will be separate rankings and dedicated trophy: historic cars built until 1982 as well as World Rally Car of the beginnings, present this year, too. Debut at Rallylegend of Kit Car category,with the most prestigious models built before 2000 that will be accepted at the start, along with the WRC cars. Rallylegend will begin on Friday, October 7th at 19:30 at the center of the stage

Rallylegend Village, for the stage, which will take place in the suggestion of the night. Two special stages in the program: “La Casa” (The House), km. 6.64, and “I Laghi” (The Lakes), of 3.13 km, which will be repeated twice. Final arrival of the first stage at Rallylegend Village at 00:40. Rallylegend takes up on Saturday, October 8th, departing again from Rallylegend Village at 12.00, to move towards special stages of "Piandavello" (6.34 km), "The Legend" (5.92 km) and “San Marino” ( km. 8,11), each repeated twice.

The two passages of "The Legend" will be the core of the day and the stage where the champions and all crews will perform shows with spectacular counter steering, with new jumps and reversals that will increase the adrenaline level. Arrival, final big party, awards ceremony and dinner with the champions at Rallylegend Village at 18.30.

Among the 160 beautiful historical cars at the start, Rallylegend will see in the different categories (Historic, Myth and Trofeo WRC): Juha Kankkunen (Toyota Celica St 185), Timo Salonen (Toyota Celica St 205), Marcus Gronholm (Peugeot 206 WRC) Gustavo Trelles (Lancia Delta Integrale), with national champions such as Dario Cerrato (Delta Integrale), Federico Ormezzano (Talbot Lotus) and Bruno Bentivogli (Alfetta GTV6). Big show in the highly anticipated Legend Stars, where will perform Harri Toivonen (Opel Manta 400), Jacky Ickx (Porsche 959 Dakar), Hannu Mikkola (Audi Quattro A2), Miki Biasion (Lancia Rally 037), Per Eklund (VW Golf Gti) Paolo Valli (Lancia Delta S4), the Spaniard Xavier Pina (Peugeot 205 T16), Steven Rockingham (Triumph TR7 V8), with Yvonne Mehta as co-driver, Piero Gobbi (Lancia Stratos), Enrico Bertone (Opel Manta 400), Gilberto Bertolini (Fiat 124 Spider) and Dieter Depping, Volkswagen test driver.

A real passion moment with special "The Legend", which will also be the center of the Sunday, closing Rallylegend 2011 show. The first " Legend Show", scheduled for Sunday the 9th, has already created great expectations and promises a high rate of entertainment content, with the great and mighty Group B.

Sixteen riders will open Legend Show, among which some big champions such as Miki Biasion, Hannu Mikkola, Michael Gerber, Paolo Andreucci, six-time Italian rally champion and fresh 2011 Cir champion. Lancia 037, Audi Quattro and Quattro S1 Peugeot 205 T16, Lancia Delta S4 are the beautiful queens that will be Legend Show protagonists. It's called "Stratos Anniversary" and, on the fortieth anniversary of the debut of the legendary rally Lancia, will be celebrated with a competition of elegance, static and dynamic, including a large batch of these cars, brought to San Marino from various collectors with the presence of some of the champions, designers and engineers who made it legendary. Sandro Munari, Tony Fassina, Fabrizio Tabaton, Adartico Vudafieri, Federico Ormezzano, all riders who won many titles with the Lancia Stratos, will be the testimonials of "Stratos anniversary". Last hour absence, for family reasons, of Bernard Darniche, who, though, has already asked to be among the protagonists of Rallylegend 2012.
