All ready to enjoy with ASM Motorsport

This weekend the team ASM Motorsport will initiate in an official way the season two thousand eleven, in that once again it will return to compete in the most important national and international contests. ASM will center his participation in Europe Championship FIA of Historic Rallys and in the Spanish Cup of Historic Cars, beside disputing several rounds renowned out of the "official" calendars, as the RallyLegend in the Republic of San Marino or the Roger Albert Clark Rally in Great Britain.

After the fantastic season that we live last year, with the absolute victory in the Spanish Cup of Historic Cars and the excellent results obtained in the Europa Championship, ASM Motorsport returns to the attack, yesterday Friday twenty-five the Bullring of Avila was the scene of the checks of the Historic Rally of Spain, the first appointment of the calendar of a total of seven rounds. The round of Avila will have near 556 kilometres of route, of which 161 will correspond to ten timed sections that will be disputed between the same Friday evening and Saturday up to midday.

The calendar of the second edition of the Spanish Cup of Historic Cars will continue with the rallies of Talavera, Liérganes, Legend and Avilés, before coming to the summer parenthesis that will serve to re-put forces with a view to the final sprint of the championship composed by the rallies of Galicia and Costa Brava. Between the innovations to stands out the entry of the rounds since Talavera and Liérganes in detriment the Montes Universales and the Vasco-Navarro. To organizational level to highlight that this season the modalities of speed and regularity, they share entirely the same calendar.

Alex Sabater the team manager of the team ASM Motorsport evaluates what can give of them the season... "We have many desires of which it begins already the competition. In February we did first test and some rallysprints that us has been OK to roll the whole equipment. The obtained title the past season is important and we begin this season encouraged and with illusion. This year everything indicates that we will have between two and three vehicles inscribed in every round of the Spanish Championship for what it is important to plan well the previous work ".

Since already we have mentioned ASM Motorsport he will compete for the fourth year in a row in Europe Championship FIA of Historic Rallys. The contest will begin the second weekend of April with the dispute of the Rally Sanremo Storico and will lead the pilots participants to crossing for eight months Europe’s great part, disputing a total of ten rounds. As principal innovation for this season are precisely the number of tests to be disputing, that it spends from twelve to ten, visiting a total of eight different countries.

In this case the team will take part in six of ten tests initially foreseen. After disputing in Avila the Historic Rally of Spain, ASM Motorsport will move to the City of the Flowers, on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea, to take part in the twenty-sixth edition of the Rally Sanremo. The program will continue with the Rally Acropolis (Greece) that has double incentive to the being a mixed round "asphalt - gravel", to count every stage separately; the Rally Lahti (Finland) this year coincides with the Rally of Finland, to count for the World Rally Championship, and the classic cars will dispute the same sections after the step of the World Rally Cars. The last rallies of the calendar will be Alpi Orientali (Italy), Costa Brava (Spain) and du Var (France).

Miquel Amblàs, Coordinator Team comments: “In topics of logistics we have ahead a hard work, but we go enough time competing in rallies international and this gives us much tranquillity with a view to this season. The Rally of Cyprus doesn’t count to the championship but yes the Acropolis, which to count double and there if that we will be. Also we are satisfied by the increase of vehicles that we have under our supervision and for the rallies to dispute. To be able to be in several championships with different drivers contributes us very much to level of experience and knowledge ".

ASM Motorsport will tell once again in his structure with Antonio Sainz and Ferran Font, who they will compete in the Europe Championship. Manuel Bobes and Carles Palou who will take part in the Spanish Cup of Historic Cars, besides Raül Solé, that without following a concrete championship, takes part habitually in international rounds as the RallyLegend.
